The new EP from Etta Marcus, View From The Bridge, has been exciting us at TMR for a while now. ‘Provider’ is the EP’s highlight, and Marcus has now hit us with a music video that sees her performing a stripped-back version of the track live at Platoon 7. “Song-writing can sometimes feel like a very self-centred thing if all you’re doing is writing about yourself constantly,” she explains “I would also get very bored! It made me realize how empathy can become a strange, but interesting place to write from.” The song is gentle, with guitar chords ebbing and flowing as her instantly recognisable voice sings an almost hymn-like melody. -Dan Peeke
